Does AC duct cleaning really work?
An honest answer for Dubai homes: what AC duct cleaning fixes, what it does not, and how to tell whether your ducts are the problem.

Short answer: yes - for the problem it is meant to solve. Duct cleaning removes the dust, sand and debris that build up inside the ducts. It does not fix everything that can go wrong with an AC, and a good company tells you which part of your system actually needs the work.
What duct cleaning does
- Removes dust and sand that settle in the ducts over months of running the AC
- Clears debris near the grilles that the AC keeps blowing back into the room
- Gives you a clean starting point after building work, a sandstorm season or a move
What it does not do
- It does not clean the coil - a dirty coil is a separate job (AC coil cleaning)
- It does not replace changing the filter
- It does not repair a leak, a weak AC or a faulty unit
How to tell whether the ducts are the problem
- Dust on the grilles and on the wall around them
- Dust that comes back soon after you clean the room
- A musty smell when the AC starts - this can also come from the coil, which is why we look at both
Why the answer is 'it depends'
In Dubai the AC runs most of the year, and sand, building work, pets and the way a home is used all change how fast ducts collect dust. That is why we would rather look at your system and tell you honestly whether the ducts, the coil or simply the filter need attention - instead of selling a clean you do not need.
